How to take Paypal at shows

If you can connect to the internet with your laptop or iphone and ipad at the venue, here is how to be able to take paypal payments on the spot.

Make a page for your website, I call my 'hidden.html'. Put a note in big bold letters saying this page is for show use only, please do not buy from here (just in case someone stumbles across it)

Got to Merchants Tools in Paypal and follow the instructions to make a button for your website. It will give you the code when it is finished and allow you to copy and save it.

Make a list of your dolls you are selling on this 'hidden' webpage and paste the button code under the description of the doll. You don't need pictures for this page.

Make more buttons for each doll or item you have for sale on that day, Paypal will ask if you want to make a similar button.

When clicked this will bring up a shopping cart and a checkout button.

Hand your computer to the customer to fill in their details or log into Paypal account

This allows you to take direct Paypal payments from people with or without a Paypal account. Those who don't can use a credit card to enter their details, those who do can log into Paypal and procede from there.

You can go and play around with this as all you have to do with the shopping cart is to reset to zero or remove the item

Let's hope so Judy LOL. Found it by trial and error after last year trying to work it out for someone at the show with no success. Not too bad if the customer has Paypal but no good if they haven't, involes email and invoice making etc. This is fairly straightforward and as long as you have a connection it works well. I will include it in my notes to vendors as the racecourse has free wifi

I am glad it helps, it took an age to work out, it was so frustrating at shows and long winded emailing back and forth, this just goes through as quickly as if you were buying from ebay or somewhere and means you can take credit cards from people who don't have a credit card
