School project

This is what I spent my bank holiday doing. Scott is learning about pirates this term at school so we made a treasure chest complete with treasure and a map. He took it to school today and the teachers loved it. He came home very proud with 2 stickers on his jumper.

It's my grandsons birthday, the 18 of june, and most of the time i make someting special for the kids.
Our Niels loves everything that has to do with pirates....

Iekie my sister gave me a polystyrene box with a lid and I covered it with cardboard, the top was flat so I used some cardboard to make the curved top and under this I packed with screwed up newpaper to keep the shape. I then pasted lining paper to the cardboard ready to paint it brown. The inside of the polystyrene box I padded with polyester wadding and had to sew the satin material to it. I covered the edge with some glued on gold ribbon. I glued some shiny green paper inside the lid and then cut a boot lace up to stick 2 pieces on the top. I found a skull pic off google and printed it off and stuck this to the top. The lock on the front is a piece of cardboard covered in some gold foil off Scott's easter egg. LOL and a keyhole cut out of black card stuck onto that. I would have liked to have colour the white edge inside the box with black marker pen but it had dried up so I had to leave that.

That is so good Barbara, no wonder Scott was pleased, I bet his teachers were well impressed. Love the idea, so creative.

Ladies, please tell me, what is a bank holiday ?????

Bank holidays are public holidays holiday, they I think were originally St. Days...may be wrong, they were then changed to Bank holidays, we have nine each year, but this year we have an extra for the Queens Dianomd Jubilee. Even though they are public holidays, does not mean that your employers have to give you the day off work.

Thankyou ladies. Scott was awarded a sticker today which said on it "Headteachers award" he also brought one home for me. LOL

Doris my son works for Morrisons in the freezer depot and he never gets bank holidays off.

But what does the word 'bank' mean in this ?
A bank were you have your money in, or a sofa, which means as much as having a lazy sofa day ???
