| Doris it is a straight run down the M1 for you LOL. Takes about 5 hours I should think. Sometimes it takes me that to get back from Peterborough, although that is supposed to be three hours.
For the Brighton one this year a lady who booked a table cam all the way from Swansea and back in a day. Considering the early start I think I would have preferred staying overnight though LOL. I will for this one although it is only less there early in the morning before anyone else comes in

| No it is not a big show like Peterborough, I was asked to do one in this area because of the ring of motorways around it but had trouble finding anything of reasonable size within the budget. Always best to start off small with a new show anyway I think, also small show help the sellers to showcase their work without too much competition. It has had a good response so far so does seem to be a popular area. If I get a lot of requests for tables then next year I will look for somewhere bigger | |

| No I am afraid not Doris, the costs of traveling etc for me make it too expensive. This one is about 2 hours drive from me so I can manage to go there to check things out beforehand and measure up. I would never book anywhere unseen. Even to check out venues I would need to drive up, stay overnight for one or two nights and drive back again, just for starters with petrol, hotel, meals etc it is a no no I am afraid. I would have to charge so much for tables I doubt I would get many bookings. I like to be able to go there any times to review things and have face to face chats with the hotel staff.
Nearest one I know of Northwards is Cathy's at Cheshire but that is not very near you I am afraid

| I really hate to tell you all this but I am having to cancel the Middlesex Doll Show because of lack of support. We simply do not have enough tables to support a decent show. While I was away I had two cancellations, I have been chasing a couple of vendors for the balance of payment and have received nothing from them and no communications either plus verbal promises that have not been followed up. This is a very difficult decision for me as I love putting on these shows but it is just not viable for any of us to go ahead with this. I am not seeing any discussion of the show on the forums or Facebook etc so I cannot judge the amount of visitors we would get either so I feel the whole thing would be a waste of money for all concerned. Once again I am really very sorry to spring this on you but I have given it a great deal of thought. Dolls shows seem to be on the downturn and our customer base seems to be happy with just Peterborough as Cathy Read had to cancel her show in Cheshire for the same reasons and there have been other shows in various parts of the country that have not taken place either. My gut feeling is that there will not be much point in doing the Brighton show either but I have made no firm decision on that just yet but the same terms and conditions will apply to that as well and anyone who has paid will be refunded. I do appreciate all the support you have given me in the past and for this show, I did think that given it's central position it would work well and would be of benefit to all concerned. I hope you are all not too disappointed, you cannot be more disappointed than I am but although it was a tough decision I do feel it is the right one. Many thanks to you all for placing your trust in me and I am so sorry to have let you down. If you booked accommodation at the hotel please cancel it and you will not be charged Best wishes always | |

| So sorry to hear of the cancellation, I know that you put a lot of effort into your shows, just wish I lived nearer, would love to come to one. Lets hope that you can still keep the Brighton show going. I think everyone is having to tighten their purse strings, and I cannot see it improving for a while... Doris xx | |
