Reborners meeting

I had written a very long topic and touched one button by accident, and all was gone..........
A lovely day at Marga's for reborners, sculptors and rebornwebshop owners !
Marga made us delicious food and we were spoiled rotten by Petra'sDolls, SweetLittleDreams and Gré Meulendijk, they gave lots of beautiful prizes for the lottery.
Adrie Stoete gave her new kit !!
And i had taken two of my sock monkeys, the ones i made of your socks, Doris ! And the ladies loved them.

To me this day was my highlight of the year !!

Now I would love to do something like that, I do have friends around each Wednesday, we do scrapping or cardmaking, and I always cook lunch and bake a cake, sadly only me does it, but not complaining As I really enjoy it, when John worked away from home I used to invite my friends around, we would play games and I organised prizes, great nights, but not now..

Wouldn't it be lovely if we ladies do something like that????.

Marga lives in the middle of the Netherlands and i am the only one who has to travel far. And the only reborner from Friesland, our provence, too.
The rest of the ladies live much nearer to Marga.
Two years ago we had it in June or July, can't remember, and we were all sitting outside, it was hot. !
I'm so glad that she is organizing these days, because i'm sure, that when i did it, everybody would say; O no, i'm not going all the way to Friesland !!!!! Sometimes it gives me the feeling as if i live on the north pole or something like that !

One day we will all have to meet up, I will continue with putting the lottery on!!!!

I'm glad i finally gained some weight, because i have been so skinny all my life !
Was just talking about it with Joop this afternoon, all the nicknames my dad and my sisters gave me.....
It never hurt me though, except for one thing when i was in my thirties. A friend of mine told an other lady i was probably suffering from anorexia....Perhaps she was a bit jealous ? Anyway, i heard her mention it and told her right away i was absolutely not !!!
She should not made have jokes about such a terrible disease !!

Well iekie, when I was 40, I also was thought of being anorexia,which thinking back I coukd have been, not a happy time in my life, I started going to slimming world, lost my weight no bother, but then could't stop, cannot say that now my weight is not should I say creeping, more like jogging, I must stop, my holidays are in eight weeks,

I agree, you look great iekie...and yes the lady was proberbly jealous!!
I used to be very slim when younger, but as ive got older the weight came too, then after my fall i became less mobile and more weight came, also thyriod trouble...but the weight had been put on before the doctor diagnosed me, which then although im being treated for it, its hard to get back of..as also im not very mobile because of my back problem, which when i walk after a short while my back, hips, and leg end up in pain, stiffness and tingling burning sensation....i do some little excersises at home, to keep my body moving, but its not enough to help the weight come of, and every now and then i think i will go for it and try a walk...only to suffer for days. i will keep trying though i have to...im only 51..

My eldest sister, 77 years old now, has gained lots of weight after she had her second child. And she kept growing and growing. Baby three for and five came and she was so fat !
We all told her she should do something about it, but she got mad and told us to mind our own bussiness.
OK, now she can't walk anymore, her body, feet, knees and hips are aching all the time. She goes to hospital two days a week, learning to walk again. She lost about 30 kilo because she did not eat anymore, the taste of everything was so bad, she sad, and the doctor gave her astronautsfood......
She destroyed her body and bones and we all are so concerned about her.....

Thanks Iekie, i will keep trying..... i saw my own mam suffer so much through illness, she suffered so long before we lost her....so this is what stays in my mind and encourages me to try, keep doing things even if it causes pain....its just that im impatient and want it all done in few days....rather than over longer period... but i know thats not thinking logically my problem with walking is slipped dics...which hasnt responed to any treatment or pain killlers ....yet the discs are not pressing on the spinal canal bad enough to opperate...and theyve said besides the discs, because the pain isnt responding to treatment, well theres lots of nerves in there what they dont know what is going on with them....thats why each person with slipped disc have different levels of pain, it has been known for people to pass away and when theyve done post mortom the person has had slipped disc, yet never had pain....my problem is in 2 parts, L4/L5 area. I do press ups against the wall, we were shown that way in physio, and i do leg excercises, arm excercises, while sat, but also when stood sometimes.... and i too dance in the front room ( just swaying and loosening my body) now and again...Bet i look an idiot...sometimes when i go out i join in with dancing...but when i do i get remarks from what are supposed to be friends as ..."thought you had bad back." ..but its only oddtimes i let myself go because im so fed up of not being able to do these things as well as i could...but they dont know how much it hurts and i suffer in the nights and days following from enjoying that little dance....im begining to wonder if they are my friends...i dont want sympothy..just encouragement and a smile goes a long way... xx

You have to to lots of back and belly muscles exersisings, so your muscles take over most of the spine job..
Hope you understand what i mean. I was 25 and a balletdanser when my back started to hurt.
Had to stop dancing, a few years later, after lots of examinations they found out i had worn vertebrae.
Have been wearing a corset for over a year and in the meantime i had to make the muscles as strong as possible.
I found a way to live with it and it's good enough for me. I can do nowadays so much more than when i was in my twenties and thirties.....

Wish you lots of perseverance, it won't be easy, but in the end you will feel so much better ! You're still so young, Vicky !

I can imagine you being a ballet dancer iekie, and I know my friends daughter who danced, now also has back problems. Vicky, I can still do running, well more like jogging, which 'm now almost, ahem!!!!! 62, but there are days when I struggle to get up from a seat, I'm best standing, i just have to sit a little, stand a little, I love to get up and dance, but know I will suffer for the next few days, even my knitting hurts me, I used to do a lot of cross stitch and quitting, but now my hands get sore and myback aches so much. I just don't like this getting old...

What about swimming in a warm swimming pool?
