| I wondered which needles do you find best for rooting, i have used in the past, 38, 40, and 42 gauge, but sometimes ican see the hair where its gone in more than one at a time. I cant afford the rooting needle which everyone was talking about on here not so long back with multiple needles, so can anyone advice me on which size best. I have a kit i would like to start soon, but i want to try and do it with the hair looking nice :^), im not into painting so that isnt an option for me. Any advice, tips, etc, are more than welcome, kind regards, luv vicky x | |

| I use 42 extra strong needles with one barb. For me they are fantastic because they don´t break easily. I put 5 or 6 in a round thing I make with (something like Lisa put in:Rooting Needle Holder - DIY version .Tips & Tricks - got an idea for something? Tell us about it) And if the head is very hot it´s very easy to root a head. I hope you understand me. I bought the last ones here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-REBORN-FELTING-NEEDLES-42-GAUGE-single-barb-/180903979334?pt=UK_Dolls_Accessories_RL&hash=item2a1eb7a946 | |

| I use the 43 German forks, they are ver strong, I wrap an elastic band around them and also use the rubber quilters thimbles. I root from a cut end so only get in one hair at a time | |

| Thankyou all, I have taken notes and will try the tips you have suggested. I use a rooting tool when ive rooted before, with one needle. I have seen the rooting tool Lisa made, so could have a go, also try your way Ceinwen. When i start my reborn i will let you know when i get to root it how i am getting on or not The site where you got your needles from Christina, I too have had them from there, they were ok, but i didnt at that time when i used these, heated my head, which now i know to, had have done in previous reborn, which did look better, but still sometimes getting the odd plug look with more hair than one in, which then have to take out!! Like you Iekie, ive watched many videos, got the dvd, Making reborn babys, etc etc, but some of the hair i see which others have done, looks really amazing. I will take on board all your tips, big thankyou, luv Vicky xx | |
