| Ladies ive just heard a new tip. some ladies now put their kit in a pillow case and tie it up, put it in the washing machine on 40 degrees with biologial soap powder (and maybe a couple of light coloured clothes which are dye fast to stop it bumping round too much). ive not tried it myself yet but apparently the kit comes out much cleaner and silky feeling than hand washing and using alcohol wipes, and at the end its a lot less prone to going shiny from rooting it etc. | |

| I have often wondered about doing this, I don't fancy the dish washer as I think the detergent could leave scratches, although if it is in a bag it should be OK. I might take a chance on the washer with a cheaper kit and see how it comes out, at least you would know it was thoroughly clean and any coating removed | |

| Yeah, i think i might give it a try too Ceinwen. Ive got a Robbie Lechner kit that its quite hard to get the paint to 'stick' properly so might give it a go at some point. | |

| Think I will do that with the Ember kits for the class, it is very tedious washing them all by hand and I always worry they are not clean enough and the student's paint won't stick!!!! That's almost as bad as melting a kit in class! | |

| I have always washed my kits this way cause im to lazy to do it by hand but i must say the paint adheres much better and it defo help reduces the shine, I just pop it into a pillow case and stick it on 40 and away we go, but sometimes the pieces have come out of the pillowcase if this happens to you girls dont panic as it doesnt harm them, mine have all been fine hugs sandra | |

| IT WORKS FINE, I've just put two kits in the washing machine before we went for our walk, thought I would be less nervous out of the house, came home wash cycle finished, one doll was out of pillowcase but other ok, and both dolls are perfectly washed, and are dry on the inside. I like this, so next light wash, will also include another two kits, so that they are ready. Great tip, thankyou. hugs Doris | |

| Just washed two more kits, used one of the elastic bands that he postman keep throwing away and the kits stayed in the pillowcase, from now on this will be the only way I wash my kits, once washed I put them away ready for when needed and label them washed .

| This might be a very silly question - Do you let your washing machine go through the spin cycle as well Petro | |
